Fishing is tuff in August because of the heat and lack of oxygen the bite is tuff prey for wind. Also book a guide with a lot of Years of experience like Captain Erik he turned us on to fish in a tuff situation and work hard to keep us on the bite

We fished from 10-12:30pm. Water was 90. Not too many bites that time of day Lake Apopka was beautiful. We did catch 4 nice ones though.

Lucky Spot (Saltwater Fishing Near Orlando)
We weren't in DeBarry. The captain lives inland a bit, and also does charters in that area. That's fresh water, and about a half hour from where we went. We were out on the Ponce Inlet, and New Smyrna Beach trip. It was great! After seeing the pictures of the crappie he gets in DeBarry, I kinda want to come back down just to let him put me on some of those slabs though. They aren't near that big back home.

This time of year is great for fishing the area. Fish are done spawning around this time, so they may not be as active as they would be earlier in the year, however in the early morning hours when the sun is coming up and theyโre hungry, not catching anything is nowhere near a concern. Amazing time of year to fish!
