Summertime Blues!
July 23, 2023
Alyssa scheduled a half day trip in the am. This was their first time on the Chesapeake Bay. With Rockfish season closed for a few more days the plan was to find some bluefish. We trolled in a couple different areas looking to find them. Once we did it was game on. They kept some for the dinner table and then we switched over to casting jigs. We continued to catch and release moving with the schools of fish. A good time was had by all. Things are really heating up. Spanish mackerel are on their way, I expect to see them any day now. Rockfish season reopens on Aug.1. There is a lot of opportunities for different species right now. Book a trip and message us so we can tailor a trip to your needs. Half day am and pm trips are available. We also do full day trips.

Birthday trip.
June 30, 2023
Michael and Michelle were in town to celebrate their birthday and booked a trip with us. They drove from about 2 1/2 hrs North and stayed in town for the weekend to do some fishing. We started out catching some spot for bait. After putting 13 spot in the live well we head to the Stripers grounds. Well boy were they chewing that morning. They had their 2 fish each in about 30 minutes. Wow. Well we are not the charter that drops you off early if you get your fish. With it being so hot it’s not good to catch and release Stripers they don’t do well in the high heat temps. So we bottomed fished different spots on the way back and caught perch, spot and some croakers. Book your trip before it’s too late.

Beautiful Day
June 24, 2023
Well we started the day with heavy cloud cover and a light drizzle once in a while but then the sun came out in force. Mike booked a trip for him and 3 buddies. What a great time. We made quick work of catching bait then off to the Rockfish spot. Action was pretty consist from the get go. Mike got the first one. A real nice Striped bass. Once everyone got the hang of fishing with live bait and circle hooks it was non stop action. The got their limit of Rockfish to take home to make some nice meals out of. The action is heating up folks book you trip today. Striped bass(rockfish) season closes on July15 . We have a few dates left before then. Come July 16 we will be fishing for Spanish mackerel, bluefish and speckled trout. Don’t wait summer is going by fast.

Mike scheduled his annual fishing trip with us for in the am. Even tho everyone got up real early they wasted no time getting to work. With in site of the launch location we filled the live well with spot and perch. As always the kids had the upper hand catching. After gathering enough bait, off to the fishing grounds we went. We even got a show from a couple small pods of dolphins on the way. They just pop up here and there. You can never pin point them as they move long distances some times each day. Sometimes you see a few sometimes many many more. We got to where we left them biting the night before only to find a slack tide. Striped bass like moving water or they are hard to entice a bite from. We moved around and found 1 hungry one. The current was just starting to move slightly so we moved to where I suspected we had our best chance at. Well I guessed right. We picked at them till time to go. They ended the day with 6 nice keepers. Live lining is no guarantee but it is a lot of fun. There is a slight learning curve to it as you will miss bites or have fish get off the hook. But once you get the hang of it if they are biting boy oh boy hang on to that rod! June is almost half over wow. We still have dates available for June and July book now before it’s too late. Striped bass season closes July 16. By then we should see some bluefish or Spanish mackerel around and we will concentrate on them. We also will be bottom fishing. For spot and white perch and possible catfish. There’s a lot going on in the Chesapeake Bay. Book a trip with us to get in on some of the action.

Summer fishing
June 10, 2023
Summer fishing is heating up. Kayla had a pm trip scheduled for Saturday and boy did she pick the right time. We made quick work of catching some spot for bait. Then we ran to the fishing grounds. It didn’t take long for her to get a bite. She quickly learned the live lining technique and got her 2 fish quick.

What a great weekend on the Chesapeake!
June 6, 2020
Saturday AM I saw a returning customer, Mike with his family, It was his wife’s birthday and she wanted to fish. Well we started out filling the live well with small spot and perch for bait. Then checked our local fish reef but the current was too slack. Ok no problem worked our way south and found good current. Put the lines out and a few minutes later fish on! Well Kelsey AKA birthday girl got a nice 24 inch rock. Then fish on again and Mike got a 20 incher. Well guess what Dawson was not gonna be left out so you guessed it. In comes a nice 24 1/4 inch catfish to finish out the trip. PM trip was Sandra and her friends for an afternoon of good times. We found the spot and perch right where I left them earlier. Everyone was catching and having a lot of laughs. We checked for rock fish around some structure but there were none to be found. So we continued bottom fishing and BJ got a nice 12 inch white perch. Which she said she was gonna cook for her Grandma. I hope she enjoyed it. Sunday I met Nikki and her family for an AM trip. We checked around for the rock but they were none to found yet. So off we go to gather bait and have some fun with other species. We got some spot in the live well for bait and caught a ton of perch. They didn’t want any to keep so they all went back. So the current was looking good so we went to check for Rockfish again. Finally after the fourth stop I was bringing the line in and I felt the tell tale sign. So back over it went and I handed the rod off to Nikki. Sure enough bam! Fish on she landed a nice 24 inch Rock. Ok pull back over and put 2 rods out. It was quite rough so 2 at time taking turns is the best way. Sure enough William gets a hit. Got a nice one boat side for a release. Then Junior gets hit. His was released also. Reset lines and had a couple more takers before time ran out. It was great times with lots of memories made by families and friends enjoying the water. I heard someone say this weekend (Boy it’s beautiful out here and you can’t get a breeze like this on land.)She is right!
