Silky Sportfishing
It was my first time out on a deep sea fishing trip and although I was worried I didnโt know what to do while boarding the boat, the crew did a great job explaining everything to us and I left that boat knowing that Iโd be back and Iโd be ready to go again

We only caught one fish almost 3 and a half hours in, but I don't actually know the bite rate during different times of year. So don't exactly take my word for it

Itโs fishing so donโt expect to just go out and catch something. Itโs a lot of luck involved and keep in mind the guys are doing what they can to catch fish but if the fish arenโt biting then the fish arenโt biting. Donโt go out and expect to catch fish go out to have a good time and if you catch something itโs a bonus!

Beast Mode Omni Sonar
It's off season for marlin, July is best time but they'll always be some blue marlin out here and on my son's 10th birthday he caught a 300lb beauty. We booked a 4hr trip, had a huge bite 30 minutes in and than right about quitting time we had a massive strike, it took all of us to get him up to the boat for pictures, captain and crew were the best!

Invest in UPF gear, remember sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, hydration (we brought lots of water and liquid IV), decent shoes for the boat and water on deck, and snacks.

High Noon Sport Fishing
The bite this time of year may not be predictable. We went out about 36 hours after a storm, and there wasn't a lot of debris attracting bait in the water. Be prepared for the sun! Most sunblock needs to be applied every two hours, and 30 SPF may not be enough. Broad brimmed hats will work better than baseball caps. Boats with fishing towers have an advantage in terms of spotting breaking fish, flocks of birds, or floating debris that may attract bait and predator fish underneath them.

This is my second time fishing off Kona and both times have been great. A beautiful Skip Jack tuna the first time and a 403 pound blue marlin the second time. Great area to fish and both very successful.
