I have never seen predation at every single location like I did on this trip. The dolphins were hardly letting a vermillion slip by them, but we did manage a few for dinner. We attempted running a few miles from the dolphins 5 different times, only to be greeted with a brand new batch of baddies. They left us the grunts(because they don’t pull off the hook easily), so we put them to use on a few big fish. We also battled a few large sharks due to predation.

Catch and release trip for Torye’s 16th birthday! We caught enough amberjack to make everyones arm sore, lots of smiles.

The big predators were putting on a show today, we lost a lot of tackle to the amberjacks and big red snappers. Today we were light tackle fishing for vermillion and mangroves. Red Snapper season starts June 16! Jacks will open August 1! This is a very impressive jack for 17# test.
