Trip Summary

Fishing is for all ages, and today’s MVP was Sem, our young guest from Holland who showed up absolutely fish hungry. From the first fish, he was all in — helping catch some big skipjacks and topping it off with a solid wahoo to end the day. Amazing to see the next generation this fired up about fishing. Hey Sem — looking for a job? ?

After picking up a few mahi on live bait near a FAD (Fishing Aggregating Device), we headed back toward the harbor to drop off our guest. On the way in, we switched it up — fast trolling at 10 knots with lures. Suddenly, boom — hookup! A fat 100 lb yellowfin smashed the spread, and Mason was loving every second of the fight. A true trophy fish and a moment to remember.

After a slow start to the morning, we managed to land a solid solo wahoo while trolling offshore. Just as we were about to call it a day, I noticed a strong mark on the fishfinder — thought it might be a marlin… but surprise! We hooked into a 100 lb yellowfin tuna in the last 10 minutes. What a way to end the trip — no complaints here! ?
