Waves can get choppy, take dramamine if prone to sea sickness. The captain also can navigate the waters to minimize effect if you let them know

Fish Curacao on Papucho IV
Book with Captain Gordo , but maybe book a longer outing. We did a 4 hour trip - which was great for us but maybe a 6 or 8 hour trip would have resulted in a couple more fish.

Do research on the boating conditions because most of the time it is very rocky. The sea was clam for us, but we were lucky.

Try and arrange your taxi ride in advance. It's in a bit of a remote part of the island, and is a good 20-30 minutes from Willemstad. We had to wait a half hour for a taxi ride to the boat, and had to call 3 different taxi companies and wait an hour and 15 minutes to get a taxi ride back to Willemstad.

I was very happy how we caught fishing within 20 min of starting off very early. 1st Mate was great, did lose one fish after reeling it all the way in. Gave some good insight on the island and the fishing there. However the Capt. really did not want to go back out after we dropped off my wife who was sick even though we had two hours of paid fishing left, we did go back out but he did so after I insisted and not even at the spot we were catching fish.

Stay out of the cabin while it's in motion if you can. Otherwise, it can bring on sea sickness much faster, if you're not used to it.
Don't forget your hat, sunglasses, and a sun shirt.
