Trip Summary

After their first trip catching some tasty meat fish, this crew was hooked and curious — they kept asking about the billfish we always talk about. So they said, "Let’s go again and find one!" Just 4 hours on the water, and we made it happen — a beautiful sailfish lit up in the spread, giving us the perfect chance to show exactly what we meant. Mission accomplished — and memories made!

After picking up a few mahi on live bait near a FAD (Fishing Aggregating Device), we headed back toward the harbor to drop off our guest. On the way in, we switched it up — fast trolling at 10 knots with lures. Suddenly, boom — hookup! A fat 100 lb yellowfin smashed the spread, and Mason was loving every second of the fight. A true trophy fish and a moment to remember.

After a slow start to the morning, we managed to land a solid solo wahoo while trolling offshore. Just as we were about to call it a day, I noticed a strong mark on the fishfinder — thought it might be a marlin… but surprise! We hooked into a 100 lb yellowfin tuna in the last 10 minutes. What a way to end the trip — no complaints here! ?
