Halifax River & Ponce Inlet Fishing Report
Snook season is officially open as of September 1st, and the bite has started strong. Anglers are already seeing quality action along the Halifax River and through Ponce Inlet. The jetties are producing some true monsters, with live mullet and pinfish proving to be reliable baits. For those preferring artificials, a Salt Strong prawn rigged on a ½-ounce jig worked near the bottom has been an effective way to hook into a personal best.
Over in Spruce Creek, snook have been ambushing bait along the mangroves, offering plenty of opportunities for inshore action. Keep an eye near marina buoys as well—some hefty tripletail have been hanging around, and fresh cut ladyfish has been a top choice for bringing them boatside.
