Trip Summary
The fall season is finally here, and we’ve kicked things off on the Niagara River with an exciting start to our guided fishing adventures!
We began fishing in early October, and while the salmon run is just starting to build, we’ve already seen solid action for this early in the season. Over two days, our crew landed a dozen salmon, with several more hook-ups that kept rods bent and adrenaline high.
The water clarity has been exceptional, which made the bite a little trickier than usual — the fish could see everything — but with the right presentation and patience, the rewards were worth it. Our most productive setups have been fresh skein, bright spinners, and a variety of lures, depending on current and light conditions.
These early runs are just a preview of what’s to come, and based on the movement we’re already seeing, this season is shaping up to be an epic one. As temperatures drop and the salmon push further upriver, expect the action to heat up fast, with steelhead and lake trout soon joining the mix.
