Trip Summary

Today made up for yesterday with calm winds and warm temperatures. Like yesterday, it was a black crappie day, plus one 17 inch largemouth bass. Early morning creek fishing was diffilcult due to debris rafts drifting downsfram due to recent heavy rains. Here's are a few photos.

Surface waters are warming into the low 60s and the fish are becoming more active. We took some nice crappie today pulling and pushing crankbaits and jigs over creek channel flats in 15-25 FOW. This was a catch and release trip at the request of the client.

High winds today made trolling on the main lake difficult, so we fished some of the adjacent, wind-protected areas. We managed to take a few, including a 14.5 inch (1.68 pound) white crappie.

A three-day cold front dropped surface water temperatures eight degrees and slowed the bite. Nevertheless, we eked out a mixed catch of black and white crappie. All fish were caught on trolled crankbaits and jigs.
