Trip Summary

The wind was not our friend today, but we persisted we persevered and put a catch together. The biggest was 14.25 inches and qualifies the angler for a Tennesse Angler Recognition Program award.

March came in like a lion and goes out like a lion. Lots of wind again today, but we fished sheltered areas and put a catch together pulling and pushing crankbaits and jigs. Fourteen keeper crappie came aboard and a few more were lost at the boat.

Surface waters are warming into the low 60s and the fish are becoming more active. We took some nice crappie today pulling and pushing crankbaits and jigs over creek channel flats in 15-25 FOW. This was a catch and release trip at the request of the client.

High winds today made trolling on the main lake difficult, so we fished some of the adjacent, wind-protected areas. We managed to take a few, including a 14.5 inch (1.68 pound) white crappie.
