Trip Summary
Another beautiful spring day offshore with clean blue water, light winds, and good current movement along the weed lines. Conditions looked fishy from the start, and it didn’t take long before the mahi showed up.
We spent the morning working scattered debris and weed patches, staying on active fish and picking away at solid mahi throughout the trip. The highlight of the day was a quality bull mahi that crushed the bait and gave the crew a great fight before coming over the rail for the dockside photo.
Besides the mahi bite, we also saw some blackfin tuna moving through offshore and had a few shots at kingfish while covering water. Overall, steady action and exactly what you want to see this time of year out of Biscayne.
The offshore bite is heating up fast right now, and every trip has a chance at finding good mahi in the clean water pushing down the coast.
