Trip Summary

I was blessed to share the day on Fayette County Reservoir with Dave and Ledger. The bite was slow but we still managed a few! Water temps were HOT, well over 100 in the plant discharge and high 80’s in the cooler parts. This lake is LOADED with shad! A shakey head worm did best.

Was able to make it out to Lake Travis today and it was GOOD! Fish were hanging out around ledges and rock piles and eating that Ned Rig! Water temps in the high 80’s and a prefect fishing breeze kept it cool and the fish biting!

After hard water releases from LCRA due to flooding that came with a lake ban, got back out on Lake Austin. Water temps cooled dramatically into the mid 70’s. Hydrilla looks like the temp may have shocked it a little, bit still very present. Caught some beautiful Guadalupe Bass. Ned rig did the most damage.

Lake was rolling with mild sustained winds and cloud cover all morning, intermittent rain showers. Water ranging from 83 in the lake to 107 in the discharge canal. Fishing was not easy, but managed some big ones! Lipless and chatterbaits got it done.
