Trip Summary
The black drum and mangrove snapper bite has been good around Port Aransas, Aransas Pass, Ingleside and the surrounding bays.
We’ve been fishing live shrimp on Carolina rigs along rock edges and drop-offs in about 4 to 6 feet of water. Keeping the shrimp close to the bottom and tight to the structure has been producing the best bites.
Black drum have been picking up shrimp along the bottom, while mangrove snapper are holding tight to the rocks. Small changes in where the bait is placed can make a big difference.
The inshore bite continues to provide good opportunities for families, kids and experienced anglers.
