South Florida Peacock Bass Action Contin

Another productive day on the water in South Florida! Despite challenging water conditions, the peacock bass were active and willing to cooperate. The day produced 18 beautiful peacock bass and 1 largemouth bass, with the biggest peacock weighing approximately 3 pounds. As we transition into the fall season, fish behavior continues to change, making every outing a fun opportunity to adapt and enjoy some exciting freshwater fishing. 19 bass landed, all on artificial lures! Another great day doing what I love!

A recent Everglades outing delivered one of those fish that makes all the practice worthwhile. A longtime fishing buddy has been putting in the time learning how to effectively fish a hollow-body frog, and on this trip everything finally came together. He landed a new personal-best largemouth bass weighing 6 pounds. Conditions were challenging with very high water, which had the fish spread out and made the bite tougher than normal. We still managed several bass, but the 6-pounder was easily the highlight of the day. Moments like this are a great reminder that bass fishing is often about patience, confidence, and sticking with a technique long enough to let it pay off. Recent trips in the Miami canal system have been producing steady peacock bass action, with good numbers of fish and plenty of quality bites throughout the day. Over the past several outings, we’ve seen consistent double-digit catches, with fish in the 3-pound class showing regularly and a few larger fish making appearances as well. One encouraging trend has been seeing more fish grouped up, which can lead to some fast action when conditions line up. The fall transition is definitely taking shape, and the bite has remained productive across multiple recent trips.
