Beautiful day today in the Tampa Bay. My clients from Washington D.C. had a blast battling tarpon this morning. They had never seen such an amazing event take place like today. Started the day off catching bait at the Sunshine Skyway and then running to the tarpon grounds. Ended up going 2-2 and seeing a bunch more. Awesome day with great clients. Tarpon fishing in Tampa Bay is getting red hot. Bite was a little slow today for us but managed to get on a huge school of big big redfish. Caught a total of 5 and everyone of them were over 34". The biggest today was 39". Had my clients Jason and family today from Canada and they were done after 5 big bruisers. We ended up going trout fishing after that and had a nonstop bite. Bite is still good in the Tampa bay. Was nice to finally get out after all the rain. Had an awesome day with Paul from England-Chicago today with his family also. Went to try and catch a permit and got literally spooled by one. Only permit bite this morning. Caught some nice mangos, triple tail and lost a huge barracuda. Then pushed back inshore and caught some snook to cap the day. Very hot and flat calm all day.
