Trip Summary
Black Drum
since the falling of the high tides the black drum fishing has been good on dead shrimp near drop offs and grass lines near reefs free lined or on 1/8 oz. jig heads.
Speckled Trout
Trout fishing has been good as well on soft plastics fishing 3-5’ of water with grass beds look for sweet smelling slicks that pop and fish close to them.
Don’t be afraid to get out of the boat and wade those trout also. Wading can be very productive and don’t forget to work those soft plastics.
Redfish
Red fishing has picked up and are on the flats near good tidal flow areas look for reds in 1-3’ of water and make sure to place your baits in the potholes. Top water lures can also be deadly early in the morning. Use cut mullet and fish the potholes of your favorite flat.
Sincerely,
Capt. James Sabo
