Trip Summary

There was great south current and we hooked up on a few tuna early in the morning before setting our sights on some offshore fishing for mahi. All the elements were there bait, weeds, and floaters but no mahi so we settled on deep dropping for blackbelly rosefish and got a few nice stringers in three drops.

Plenty of action on some of everyone's favorites out there. Small schools of mahi move close to the reef this time of year and sailfish as well. We target them with live baits and light tackle for a great feel and a lot of fun!

As the summer comes to an end the fishing starts to transition into the fall migration and we see more mahi, tuna, and sailfish move south and feed aggressively orf the reef as the water cools down. The bottom fishing for snapper has been great this month and should continue through October.
