Trip Summary

We left the dock around 8:00 to head offshore for some bottom dwellers and caught a good variety of fish including Vermilion Snapper, Black Seabass, Trigger Fish, Porgies and Grunts. All very good table fair! We also released 7-8 rather large Amberjacks, quite a few sharks, and a number of other smaller fish. We had nonstop action the entire trip and even chased some False Albacore Tuna around on the way home, cast top water lures at em! Back at the dock by 2:00. What a great day!

As the water starts to heat up so do the nearshore reefs! Over the next few weeks we're going to see a lot of action on the nearshore on reefs. During this period, we like to use artificial lures to sight cast at Spanish Mackeral, Bluefish, and False Albacore Tuna on the surface. We also use artificial jigs to fish lower in the water column for Bull Reds, Black Drum, Weakfish, Sheepshead, Black Seabass etc. Book now while there's still time slots available!

The nearshore reefs are on fire right now. The Spadefish are hungry and pack a mean punch on light tackle! We caught over 30 spades today, along with a couple of other species! Pound for pound, they're one of the hardest fighting fish in the ocean! We also ran across an insane shark feeding frenzy! Looked like some National Geographic footage! It was pretty cool!
