Trip Summary
This time of year always seems to be inconsistent with the weather pattern. So far it’s been fairly nice this fall season. Nearshore trips are pretty popular for it’s usually calm enough to fish them and there is massive amounts of bait moving thru near coastal this time of year. Sharks, snook, redfish are some of the top three bigger fish we see but the smaller rods and trolling techniques often work well for whiting, bluefish, Spanish mackerel, black drum, flounder and pompano mixed in as well.
As for offshore if the weather lets us get out usually the reef if lively making for good action and some tasty table fair. Keeping it closer fishing the 80’ reef we see a good bite of triggerfish, mangrove snapper, lane snapper, vermillion snapper, mutton snapper, grunts and of coarse red snapper. Most of these fish are on the smaller side this time of year but we do see the occasional cobia and kingfish as well. If we push out deeper the same type of fishing will apply targeting triggerfish, large vermilion snapper, and red porgy with the chance as a grouper and amberjack as well.
