Trip Summary

Strong pre-frontal winds kept us off the main river channel yesterday, but we caught some fish in the more protected creek channels. The total for a 5-hour charter was 2 crappie, 5 bass, 2 sunfish, and over 25 white and yellow bass. Most were caught on crankbaits but a few were caught tightlining jigs tipped with live crappie minnows.

Rained all day, but there was none of the infernal wind we've been dealing with lately. Jerry and Jay had a good day and are looking forward to fishing with me again tomorrow. In addition to the crappie, we took two nice-sized channel cats which we released. Water temperature was 69 and all fish were taken from 10-15 depths over 20-25 FOW. Fish were equally taken on crappie jigs and crankbaits.

The fish were celebrating this newlywed couple, until pre-frontal winds blew us off Chickamauga Lake early with 25 - 30 mph gusts. Lots of crappie were landed, but only the 11 inch plus fish were kept. Water temp was 68+ degrees, and all fish were taken trolling 10-15 foot depths over 20-25 FOW.
