Trip Summary
Catfishing in the fall is a great time to land a real pig. Once the water temps get to the low 60's, they are on the move trying to load up for winter weight. Fish eat year round, but when the water temps get below 55, catfish like most fish tend to slow down their metabolism to conserve heat, and don't range as much.
Locating and fishing channel junctions during the day, and fishing creeks and creek mouth during the later afternoon/evening is your best bet. Having a good boat with the right electronics, good bait, and water knowledge is key.
