Trip Summary

Was a slow day of fishing after the wind and rain over the weekend. Marked lots of fish, but they were slow to bite.The few crappie we caught were between 11 and 13 inches. Also landed were several white and yellow bass and a single small largemouth.

Finally got a break in what has been a bad stretch of weather on Lake Chickamauga. Landed 29 crappie today; unfortunately lots of small fish mixed in . Water temperature was 72 degrees and the fish were taken either trolling or tightlining over brushpiles.

Rained all day, but there was none of the infernal wind we've been dealing with lately. Jerry and Jay had a good day and are looking forward to fishing with me again tomorrow. In addition to the crappie, we took two nice-sized channel cats which we released. Water temperature was 69 and all fish were taken from 10-15 depths over 20-25 FOW. Fish were equally taken on crappie jigs and crankbaits.
