Trip Summary

The reef has been hot lately! Full of action! We decided to take a break from the sailfishing and decided to go after yellowtail snapper and grouper on the last day of the 2023 season and boy did it pay off! Box full of good eating fish including a stud of a 35 pound black grouper. Great way to end the season!

We are starting to see some great bottom fishing the past couple weeks, yellowtail and mutton snappers are plentiful as well as throw back groupers. Grouper season opens may 1st. Dont miss out, book your trip now.

The sailfish are starting to show up in good numbers. We started out the day catching some nice pilchards for bait then set out over the edge of the reef and sent the kites out. Within the first hour we had our first sailfish on. We got lucky and went 2/2 in the morning. We also had a nice yellowfin tuna on (kind of rare for our area) that we fought for about 20 minutes before eventually going through the leader and losing the fish.
