Very large Bluefish at 10 - 12 pounds slamming live baits from the Longboat Key beaches last week. Florida’s typical Blue averages 2 to 4 pounds. Been fishing the Sarasota beaches “on-foot” for over 33 years and never have seen this species of this size. Way more common on the Northeast beaches of the U.S. like Rhode Island or Long Island and more.
Looking to have a memorable experience, look no further. Fighting a fish like that is way more fun from the beach than a boat. That’s just my opinion of course.
Snook are biting strong too! I know the spots. Let’s go get them while the season is open till the end of April.
