Trip Summary
We waited in anticipation of hurricane Ernesto but we were blessed that it passed up the coast and remained offshore. That being said we did have a tremendous swell come in for a few days that caused some damage in the neighboring town of rodanthe.
We had a very tough time making it through the inlet for a few days at the swells increased in size while crossing the sandbar within Oregon inlet. Those swells however, brought in new and cooler waters that have given us a flush out. We're still seeing ribbon fish but some bonito have been coming into the nearshore area as well.
Tower trips have been successful as well!
Decent amberjack fishing and a mahi being captured while trolling around the towers and general area.
Weather this week is looking mild so we'll have new info to follow.
Stay tuned!
