Trip Summary

Cold fronts have come and gone and returned again for the first week of December. Fishing has remained consistent throughout the fronts and the bait has been plentiful. Snapper species have been the ticket in the backcountry with Trout, Mackerel, and Cobia being in the mix as well. On my charters recently I have been anchoring in a particular area and fishing live pilchards in the chum line on the bottom for Snapper and one mid water column for Mackerel racing through and both have been producing nice catches and its on the mid column bait that Ive been catching the Cobia. Cobia on 15# test have been a test but very achievable with proper technique. Switching it up at some point to artificial lures that I custom make have been the ticket to catching the Sea Trout. Bouncing the artificial along the bottom entices the bite from them and once the school is located you can catch them every cast! There are still a bunch openings to get out on the water and short boat rides to fantastic fishing puts you fishing rather than riding!
