Trip Summary

January Fishing Report January is shaping up to be a fantastic month for fishing, especially for Sailfish, which are abundant and actively feeding. Trolling ballyhoo or live bait along color changes, rips, and temperature breaks has been producing multiple hook-ups and plenty of acrobatic action. Alongside the Sailfish, Mahi-Mahi are starting to show up in good numbers, with some impressive fish being found near floating debris, weed lines, and temperature edges. They’re responding well to small lures, rigged ballyhoo, and even live bait, providing an exciting mix of action and excellent eating. Out on the hill, the Snapper bite remains steady, offering anglers a chance to fill the cooler with tasty bottom fish. To top it off, the occasional Wahoo is being caught on deeper drop-offs, hitting high-speed lures and planer setups. The variety and quality of fish make this a great time to hit the water!
