Trip Summary
West Galveston Bay/Port Bolivar, TX
March 10, 2024, was marked by rough weather conditions. The winds were strong, contributing to the overall cold atmosphere of the day. Additionally, the tide was extra low, making for challenging fishing conditions.
Despite the tough weather, our fishing expedition turned into an epic adventure. We successfully located schools of redfish in shallow waters with a few black drum in the mix. The water was so shallow that we could see the backs and tails of big redfish working their way towards us. Our team took full advantage, engaging in sight casting which proved to be not only effective but also exhilarating. The redfish were plentiful and their presence in such shallow water was a spectacle to behold. We went home with a stringer full of nice fish and released several oversized reds and undersized black drum.
