Trip Summary

April can be a very productive fishing month in Eastern North Carolina. Warming water temperatures bring bait out of their winter holdings and the drum are right behind them. We target mostly red drum, black drum and speckled trout in April. I prefer using live bait but we do use artificial lures when conditions present themselves. Book a trip in April for a great day on the water!

Early March is really when the spring fishing starts to kick off in Eastern North Carolina. The warmer the better in March. We are typically targeting red drum and black drum in the Cape Fear region/ Carolina Beach area. We also stumble across some striped bass when fishing the upper part of the Cape Fear River.
