? Action Rewind: One Year Ago Today! Our team headed offshore for some deepwater jigging in waters 150m–220m deep. We’d been losing lines and wondering about the mysterious fish cutting us off… and finally, we met our match! After an intense 1-hour battle, using an Ocean Jigger 1500PG paired with a PE4 Kenshin Rod, PE3 braided line, and a 60lb fluorocarbon leader, we hooked a massive Pelagic Thresher Shark! At 300g with a 4/0 assist hook, it took nearly all the line on the reel, leaving us with just 50m! To keep up, we had to start the boat and follow it—this beauty was estimated at a solid 60–70 kg! While we wanted to snap a photo, it was just too big to bring onboard. In line with our sustainable fishing practices, we safely released this majestic creature back to the depths.
