? Action Rewind: One Year Ago Today! Our team headed offshore for some deepwater jigging in waters 150mโ€“220m deep. Weโ€™d been losing lines and wondering about the mysterious fish cutting us offโ€ฆ and finally, we met our match! After an intense 1-hour battle, using an Ocean Jigger 1500PG paired with a PE4 Kenshin Rod, PE3 braided line, and a 60lb fluorocarbon leader, we hooked a massive Pelagic Thresher Shark! At 300g with a 4/0 assist hook, it took nearly all the line on the reel, leaving us with just 50m! To keep up, we had to start the boat and follow itโ€”this beauty was estimated at a solid 60โ€“70 kg! While we wanted to snap a photo, it was just too big to bring onboard. In line with our sustainable fishing practices, we safely released this majestic creature back to the depths. See you out there! ??

Common catches include Queenfish, Giant Trevally (Juveniles), Longfin Trevally, Diamond Trevally, Cobia, various Grouper species like Orange Spot, Bleekerโ€™s, Cloudy, and Honeycomb, Golden Snapper, Red Snapper, Yellowtail & Blacktail Barracuda, Narrow Barred Spanish Mackerel, and Hardtail Scad. โœจ Rare encounters: Sailfish, Striped Marlin, African Pompano, Golden Trevally. Phi Phi / Koh Ma / Koh Kaew Zone Jigging: Expect to reel in Queenfish, Giant Trevally, Longfin Trevally, Malabar Grouper, African Pompano, and a variety of Snappers and Barracuda. ? Occasionally, you might hook a Sailfish, Striped Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, or Longtail Tuna.
