Trip Summary
Fishing was so fast and furious that I only had time to snap one picture out of both of the days.
On the 29th and 30th Departed at 6am for both trips to help avoid the heat of the day, on a calm and 85 degree sunny beautiful day. By the end of the day, we were wishing we left earlier in the day to get off one hour earlier before the hottest part of the day but all in all was an incredible day!
Since it was a full day trip, we got to run up a little further on Powell into Navajo Canyon to visit an old fishing spot of mine that hasn't been touched in over a year and absolutely smashed about 50 stripers, couple smallmouth and a nice big catfish to start the day. Left the spot around 9am to avoid the crowds a little bit more and landed on a spot away from everyone and we landed on the MOTHERLOAD. Easily over 10,000 fish in the area and after catching about 150 fish, everyone got bored of catching them and so we left to go into a nearby canyon for sightseeing and try to catch some shade and jump in the water.
All in all, fishing was incredible and the people were even better. Happy to be out there and catching a nice tan while absolutely slaying the fish. Summer time is here so wakeboard boats are everywhere. Better to start earlier than later if going on a half day or full day.
