We have been having a blast going offshore and reeling in the big jacks! These are always a species we look forward to going after as it means summer is around the corner. They fight hard and we love watching them school at the top ad you get them close to the boat. These trips also bring a good bite on morning and afternoon trips

We were excited to see the Spanish really chewing on this mornings trip! We’ve been catching a few here or there for a little while but today was the first day we really brought them in the boat in large numbers! Always excited to see these migrational, tasty fish arrive here in Carolina Beach. The best bite is usually our morning trips so for the most action set those alarms and lets go!

We have been having a blast going after Atlantic Bonito which are only here for a short time usually April/May as they migrate north. Not to be confused with the Bonita aka little tunny, or false albacore, which is a strong meaty tasting fish. The Atlantic Bonito is a prized eating fish. They are known for their firm, dense, and sweet-tasting meat, which is delicious when prepared sashimi, grilled, or baked.
