The Bite is ON. Do not miss going out on the Delta during the next two months. Fished a tournament this week and had 3 fish over 5 pounds. The fish are shallow and still have not spawned. Water temps are improving and the fishing is great.

A big cold front came through and really cooled the water temps down which really had the fish confused since it was the first big full moon in March which is usually one of the biggest spawning pushes of the year on the Delta. The trip was successful for quality. We managed to catch a 5.5, 4.7, 3.2 and several 2.5's. The bite was slow on the high tide and picked up on the low tide. All fish this trip were caught pitching Senkos.

The Delta is heating up and the fish are eating. Today the fish definitely were shallow. The low tide switch to incoming triggered the shallow fish to eat. Water temps have come up to 57 and the fish are anxious to spawn. Senkos shallow on decayed material overhead cover was the key. The areas we focused on had a sandy bottom in less than 4 feet of water.
