Summer bass fishing is soon to be in full swing! Lots of bass already being caught, and some big ones too! July is my favorite time to chase big largemouth! There are shallow fish and deep fish, offering different fishing techniques, depending on how you want to fish. Everything from grass jigs in the jungle to ned rigs on deeper edges to topwater frogs in the lily pads. Muskie opener is only a couple weeks away, and I couldn't be more excited! The weather this spring is shaping up to be an incredible start to the muskie season. A nice stretch of weather before opener will have weed growth looking really good. I expect the 35-42 inch males will be using the weeds and the big females will be in open water! One thing I love about early season musky fishing is that the fish can be anywhere from the shallow weedy flats, out into open water basins, and everywhere in between.
