Bill is a phenomenal guide. He communicated with us great before, during, and after. He was extremely friendly and helpful with any little mistake my son and I made and provided excellent tips and tricks throughout that we will carry with us the rest of our lives. He put us right on fish, provided an excellent tour of the lake and was a pleasure to talk with. The YouTube video and photos/videos he provides are such a cool thing for the trip and we will cherish these photos and videos forever. My son thinks it’s soo awesome that he’s on YouTube fishing with a real Pro like Bill. Captain William Wood gave me, my son, and my nephew a fishing trip we’ll never forget on Lake Okeechobee (The Big O). From the moment we stepped on the boat, he was welcoming, patient, and full of knowledge. But what stood out most was that he didn’t just put us on fish — he taught us.

We learned how water depth affects fish behavior, how to properly work jigs and plastic baits using wrist technique, and how live bait like shiners interact with bobbers. He even showed us how to recognize when fish are busting — something we would’ve missed without his trained eye.

My personal highlight was fishing with a plastic fluke bait — that alone made the trip worth it. And to top it all off, I somehow managed to hook his hat clean off his head during a cast — and he still remained a complete gentleman about the whole thing. That says a lot.

Captain William also captured tons of great moments on camera, including slow-motion videos of us catching fish, which gave us memories we’ll hold onto for a long time.

If you’re looking for someone who’s not only experienced but genuinely enjoys teaching and making your trip memorable, Captain William is the one. I’ll definitely be booking with him again in the future!

My husband has always wanted to fish the lake so I booked a 6 hour trip while visiting Florida.  Captain William Wood is very knowledgeable and makes you feel comfortable. He did his best to put us on fish. The morning was cool with temperatures in the 50’s-60’s and the wind was not our friend.  We caught one fish on artificial and had to switch to live bait. We caught 2 more to end the day. Not the catch we were hoping for but understandable under the conditions. The time that Captain William Wood takes to make the trip memorable is awesome. Captain William was great! He was very knowledgeable both with history of the lake/area and ESPECIALLY the fishing. He had us on fish immediately in our first spot and whenever the fishing slowed in a spot, he would move to another spot with fish. He was excellent helping both of us, but especially my elderly dad who needed a little more help than average! Overall, Cpt. William gave my dad and I a memory for a lifetime! Not to mention all of the awesome pictures and videos he took along the way! Highly recommend a trip with Captain William!!

If you are taking kids fishing or have a competitive group you have to go fishing with William.  His trip tournament adds a little friendly competition to the trip and keeps the boat engaged until the end.  My son landed his personal biggest bass.  William was great with our 2 13yr old boys and dad.  He was super patient with the boys assisting them with tangles and providing guidance in an instructive and patient manner.  He also quickly switched spots or lures or techniques when things slowed down.  The boys are also excited to see their YouTube video the guide creates from the trip.  Overall everyone had a great time fishing .  Hopefully we are lucky enough to make it backto fish with William again.  I would recommend William to anyone looking for an overall great guided trip.
