Slightly later departure due to the tides but no time wasted getting to the fishing area.ย got onto a few smallies/throwbacks but nothing of significant size.ย based on the chatter on the radio, that was the situation for the day.ย Moved to another spot to try for some Blluefish and hooked into one but it shook itself off as it got near the boat.ย Altogether, it was an enjoyable day on the water and some fun catching a few fish.ย Most everyone hooked into something.
Jeff and Jason were awesome.ย Our girls 13,10, and 9 had lots of questions and they answered everyone with a smile. They also called ahead to a local raw bar for them to cook up our days catch!
Totally recommend for any family wanting a super fishing experience in the Cap.ย Leah Morris

Jeff and Jason were incredible hosts to my son, my husband and me. We could hear the various boat captains communicating over the radio, and the fish simply werenโt biting. Captain Jeff did not hesitate to pack in and move as many times as needed to find the fish, which he did. Each of us caught two or three stripers/blues and pulled in a few skates. In landing the skates (which is apparently something fishermen donโt want to do) Jason used the experience to further entertain our curiosity. Skates are ticklish. Yes, thatโs rightโif you tickle their bellies, they curl up around your hand and their mouths look like theyโre smiling. I may even write a childrens book from the skatesโ perspective of the bizarre experience of being kidnapped by jigs carrying switchblades, to be tickled on video by humans and then dropped back off at home in the sea, ha!
Poor jokes aside, weโre already planning our next charter with the delightful family behind First Light on their big, pretty boat (with a bathroom) and would be remiss not to recommend that any who are reading this do the same.

Our first trip abroad the First Light. We were contacted the day before by the Capt. that there had been an unforeseen problem with our scheduling. After explaining his situation he worked with us to insure that we made it out fishing. With that said we found both Capt. and mate to be extremely knowledgeable. We caught 7 fish in 4hrs. not counting the 2 or 3 that got away. Had a great experience. Would recommend this trip.
