Visiting from Virginia. Tuesday I spent the day with Matthew Schenk ALL GOOD CHARTERS and it was a great experience. I learned a lot and enjoyed seeing Matt’s knowledge at work which allowed me to catch a lot of fish. Only problem was the Bonitos. I caught a lot. Matt says he never heard anyone complain about catching fish. Hahahaha. Trust me, it wasn’t a complaint but those suckers are relentless. They were everywhere. Now, I wasn’t familiar with them at all. At first glance, I thought they were tuna. They look a lot like tuna with some visual differences. They are not edible for most but great for bait.

Matt was determined to send me home with some good quality fish. I ended up catching a black fin tuna and a yellow tail. Both were on the table for dinner and super fresh and the best quality. I’ve fished most of my life but this type of fishing was beyond my prior knowledge so I’m thankful to Matt for showing me the ropes and holding off my sea sickness.  I have a few pics to share from the day and how it ended with those delicious fish. I highly recommend Matt for your next fishing excursion.

Matt at All Good charters knows his trade! His passion shines through. First off he catches all his bait and maintains them. They are strong swimmers and bara hit them hard! The jacks smack em too. Second, his knowledge of the current conditions is outstanding. He will give you a great chance on getting bites. The rest , of course, is all up to you. He will coach you and help you hook em if you’re unfamiliar with this type of fishing. We went out in mid feb and we landed barracuda and yellow jacks. It was a blast! It was too windy for offshore so Captain Matt adjusted tactics and we had a great day in the bay. If you’re looking for a smaller boat with 2 to 3 people look further all good charters will hook you up.

What a great experience. This fishing trip was a major highlight of our recent trip to Fort Lauderdale. Captain Matt is very personable and knowledgeable,
and he got our family to a spot where we caught our first tuna within minutes (and a second one very soon after). He didn’t linger in spots where fish weren’t biting, and he was patient in instructing me, my wife and our 16-year-old son, all of whom have minimal fishing experience. He fileted and bagged our tuna afterwards and we enjoyed a tasty meal with it at a “hook and cook” restaurant that he recommended, just down the street from the dock. We highly recommend his fishing excursions for people of any experience level. We definitely will look to book with him again when we are back in Fort Lauderdale.

We booked the trip as part of my daughter’s 16th birthday and New Year’s Eve .
When we were leaving the marina a sudden rain storm hit . We were all soaked and headed back.
The sun started to come out and rather than cancel Captain Matt waited , called other captains to see if it would clear up . Our comfort and safety were a top priority . Eventually it cleared and we headed out .
Once we got out the fish were biting immediately . We caught a mahi mahi first ( rare for this time of year) . Then more than a few black fin tuna !
Start to finish Captain Matt continued to see we were safe , having fun and catching fish .
He used different methods that were specific to a variety of fish .
During our trip we caught : Mahi Mahi , Black Fin Tuna , Snapper , a barracuda and a few throwbacks .  Matt cleaned the fish when we returned. We called a friend and we grilled the fish for dinner that night .
Overall , our trip with All Good Charters and Captain Matt was a great experience and gave us memories for a lifetime !
We would most definitely book with All Good Charters again .
