We had engine problems during our trip which killed the fishing experience. I had to ask for another trip but they credited me 2 hours. Make sure you bring your own water! Our first boat captain didn’t have water, ice, or a working phone or radio.

I am a fisherman myself and know you don’t always catch. After boarding we fidled with lines and lures for a long time, picked up skipjack livebait, and trolled slowly down the coast with four rods. Meanwhile I could see about a dozen other boats targeting the fishing grounds near Los Arcos. Sure enough, when we got there two hours later, there was action in the water. I asked if maybe we should check the bait, one was gone. I saw several schools jumping from predators so grab the rod on the bow (with a much smaller lure than the live bait) and casted to them, no luck. I saw several more schools jumping nearby over the next hour and the captain attempted to cast at them, but poorly. And we did not move the boat to get close enough to get near the schools. I was trying to figure out where the guys were just trying to see if gas because it’s expensive lately, or if they didn’t know how to fish. They also didn’t offer any guidance to my friend who did not know how to fish. Maybe during this busy Thanksgiving week they were just extra crew? In any case, this is the same price I pay for a half day trip in San Francisco and not at all on par with the experience.

Nico and Alex were friendly and informative.  The boat was great.  Snorkeling was also great, but Los Arcos rock is well known to ALL boats.  Fishing-wise…the equipment was marginal (simply reeling in a bait with no fish was arduous due to balky reels)....and we didn’t catch a single fish.  We never changed baits, and we never broke our non-productive trolling pattern…..quite disappointing.  Also Captain and mate didn’t pay that much attention to rods/bait.  We also returned to dock 1/2 early🤷♂️.  I would recommend for straight up snorkeling/sightseeing trip, not for fishing.
