Captain spent first 1.5 hrs trying to catch bait.ย Talked the whole time about how we were not fishing right but couldnโt show us how to catch a fish bigger than bait.ย Was over two hrs in before he put out heavy fishing gear with live bait.ย Caught total of 6 fish no bigger than bait!ย Plus it seemed that he was training a first mate, that was helpful and polite.ย Over all a bad experience.ย Wish we would have spent the $770.00 on something else.ย Was not happy with the pay system either.ย Paid $70 down and was told the balance was $630.00, but $77 was added to the cost.

Captain was not friendly. Website boat was 24 ft with toilet but this boat was only 16 ft with no toilet. Offshore fishing was only 6 miles from shore. We did not catch any large fish.
We always appreciate any feed back. The vessel you booked was our 28 foot Dusky which does have a marine head on it. Our smallest boat for backwater fishing is 21 feet so we donโt have anything in the size mentioned. Also it sounds as if you choose the wrong trip which you booked without our input or calling us first. You booked a Gulf trip within 9 miles which we were 8 miles out on your trip. Size of fish has nothing to do with how far you go and your party had several larger fish on that they lost. You went home with over 20 fish and released over 40 more. Having very little experience most would have felt that this was a successful trip. I suggest in the future to call your Captain before just picking a slot on the website and discussing your expectations first so we can taylor a trip to your specifications. I couldnโt be more disappointed. I took my 18yr old son and his friend fishing for a graduation gift. The captain was very rude and had a bad attitude, from getting upset when we werenโt following his technique and being in his way to bragging about his world record tripletail catch (that doesnโt exist and โover a thousandโ Goliath groupers that heโs caught, we were thoroughly unimpressed and disgusted that we paid that much for a horrible experience and such a letdown. We saw so many barracuda that seemed reasonable to go after and he only cast 4 times for them and gave up. We even got back with 20 minutes to spare. Seemed like he was In a hurry to get back. Hardly any effort and a poor showing for someone who calls himself professional! I do not recommend him to anyone. There are plenty more better captains out there!

We always appreciate input and make every effort to make improvements where possible. I think this is out of line compared to all the feed back we get and obviously got things mixed up. The world record triple tail was caught about 15 years ago by one of our clients ofcourse. We never give up trying to attract fish so that statement is not correct. You were given your complete time for your charter so I donโt understand what you mean by we rushed to get back. We do have other clients waiting at the dock for their trip so we canโt give extra time which is why you have to booked accordingly. A four hour trip goes by fast. It sounds like you would have benefited from a six hour charter. Also it is better to call your Captain before just booking a time slot on the internet so we can steer you to hlthe best time to fish that day which is all based on tides, not the time of the day. The rating you gave is very unfair considering your party catch fish even though you picked a slot when the tide wasnโt moving and fishing with novice fisherman. Catching big fish is not easy for even a Pro, thatโs why they are big. Once again thank you for your input.
