Our experience was different and disappointing. Tiger’s boat broke down so he arranged for a friend’s boat to take us. I thought Tiger was using a friend’s boat to take us but instead he arranged a friend to take us. He asked if we could move our trip by one day but that didn’t work with our schedule. I appreciate that he offered. His friend however, was clearly a boat captain and NOT a fishing guide (despite Tiger assuring me he was an ‘expert’). He basically took us out to the first fishing spot and said “here is the live bait, good luck!”  No guidance on fishing conditions, no directions on where to cast, no guidance on whether we were fishing on the bottom or several meters above etc. No initial guidance on proper use of the bait. This led to lots of questions. It was even more clear he wasn’t a fishing guide when he struggled to figure out how to open the bail on the reel and cast the line. I’ve done plenty of these types of trips in other countries and know what to expect out of a good (& not so good) fishing guide.

Tiger was very good to communicate with me via WhatsApp prior to the trip, which I greatly appreciated. Lots of communication and clarification. What was concerning is that once Tiger was paid there was zero communication after that. I shared my concerns about the substitute guide during and after the trip and received zero response. No effort to try to make it to right. So it left me feeling like once he got his money it was done. That’s unfortunate. (And I know he got my messages because when I complained about the substitute guide he started messaging him and then he came out to check on us and interact more with us. )

I’m a very fair person and typically do not leave a lot of reviews. But in this case I feel like I was mislead and a bit swindled. I share all of this information for future customers so that if anyone is in a similar situation I encourage you to think twice or reschedule to ensure you get a proper fishing guide and you get what you paid for. We had a good time and caught a few fish, but that was mixed with a lot of frustration on our part. That’s unfortunate when you spend so much money.

Lastly, please note that you have to pay the fishing guide prior to leaving the dock. Not that this is an issue, but want to make sure everyone is aware upfront. The boat won’t leave the dock until payment is received.

Captain went above and beyond in communicating clearly and making sure that everyone had a great time (especially my kids). Between the 4 of us we caught diamond trevally, grouper, squid, flatfish, snapper, seawater catfish, and even a puffer!  Great day on the water with a great captain!

My family and I had a wonderful day, endless fun for everybody.

Captain tiger is very friendly and knowledgeable. He is also very patient and he ensures that we enjoyed our trip.

We had a really fun day out at sea learning something new from Capt Tiger. All of us are beginners and he was very patient and accommodating in teaching us the basics. Very flexible with arrangements and tries his best to make it a memorable trip for everyone. Ended the day with a great restaurant recommendation on where to get our catch of the day cooked.
