I had a fantastic time with Captain Mario and first mate Frank. We drift fished the bottom and caught grouper, grunts and trigger fish . We turned a couple smaller grunts into bait and caught a massive barracuda approaching 5โ. A personal best for me. I will definitely be booking Abrimar fishing tours again next time I am in Cozumel and highly recommend them for anyone else wanting to have a great time and put some big fish in the boat.
We headed to the marina to get aboard his ship, which he had stocked with beers, waters, sodas and snacks, and headed out to sea. We seen a bunch of flying fish which was the first time I have ever seen any which was pretty cool and had a dolphin swim by us for a little bit as well. Mario, our captain, is the one on the right shown in that picture and on the left is his first mate Miguel. He set up all the rigging, poles and baited all the lines for us and did an all around fantastic job, great guy. Our captain did an amazing job as well navigating us out to sea and trolling around trying to catch a marlin or some trophy fish of that sort. But after 2 hours of slightly rough conditions due to the wind we were about to give up and just do some bottom fishing because itโs called fishing not catching and at that very second Miguel yelled, fish on, meaning we had our first bite of the day. I sat down and photographer/cameraman Noah, my cousin, documented it all. A nice 3โ barracuda about 22lbs. That pretty much made the trip right then and there anything else would be a bonus. We stopped and bottom fished for a solid 30-45 minutes and as soon as you dropped the reel in it was almost like catching fish in a barrel, obviously just some smaller fish but still was fun to do. On our way back we trolled as well trying to catch something else and had another bite so Noah sat in and I took over the phone. He reeled in a smaller barracuda but just as fun as catching anything. Overall a great experience and awesome time. Definitely will be coming back to do this again.

Had a great time with Mario and his deck mate frank. We covered lots of ground and tried many different presentations. It sounded like a slow day on the water as many other boats were reporting not catching anything. However we were able to land a nice sized barracuda! Had a few other bites but unfortunately couldnโt get those fish to commit fully to the bait. Iโll definitely be booking with Mario again next time Iโm in cozumel!
We had a great time fishing with Mario. We caught a bunch of fish but they were smaller. Mario was very knowledgeable and fun to be on the boat with. We would recommend Mario for a fishing trip and will be booking one in the future with him again.
We had a great a time on the boat! We caught some Mahi mahi, the weather was great and so was our captain and crew Leo and Lalo! We had a great time would definitely recommend!
