Captain Ben is the kind of guy that the first time you meet him you feel as though you have been friends for years. Very knowledgeable on the flats and had us on fish within 5 minutes of getting to the spot. It was a full moon the night before which can make conditions difficult but by 10am we had caught more snapper and snook then we could count. Captain Ben worked his tail off all afternoon to get us on some bones and permits but it wasnโt to be as the bite completely shut down around noon. That happens sometimes and there isnโt much you can do about it but the morning more than made up for it. The trip would have been a success if we didnโt land a single fish but that wasnโt the case. Give Ben a shot and I promise you will be thankful you did.

Thank you brother it was a pleasure having you guys.
Captain Ben called prior to our trip and asked what our expectations were. Catching a Tarpon was very high on my list. I knew that it was very early in the season, Capt. Ben explained that as well, but said we would try as some fish had started moving in. The bite was tough today. He worked his tail off to make it happen, but no Tarpon. But, thats fishing. All in all, he still put us on some great fishing, was very informative and worked really hard to ensure that we enjoyed our trip. Captain Trainer is also very passionate about veterans, something we both share as we are both Marines. He cares about his clients wants and knows what he is doing. He went the extra mile to take care of us and thats about as good a compliment as I can give. I can, without reservation, highly recommend Capt Trainer to anyone who wants to experience backcountry Keys fishing. I am already looking forward to booking with him again. Semper Fidelis

It was a absolute pleasure having you guys on board thank you brother
After a brief communication of what we wanted the captain delivered 100%. He had a good game plan for our entire 8 hour day and made things work beautifully. We caught over 60 fish and couldnโt have asked for a better experience. If anybody is catching them, he will.
A pleasure having you guys hopefully we see you again guys
Iโve taken a bunch of guided trips, but Capt. Ben was hands down the best. He was knowledgeable, prepared, positive and put us on numerous species. We took two trips with him and caught bonefish, snook, cuda, jacks, nurse sharks, snapper, permit, trout and came close sight casting tarpon who were being finicky. Will definitely use Leatherneck again when I return to the keys. Thanks again for everything!
My pleasure brother thanks for coming out enjoyed having you guy!
Ben was very enjoyable to be around. The weather and water conditions were not very good but we still caught quite a few fish.I would highly recommend and will book with again if we get back to the area again. Thanks again!!!
