No fish or bites of any kind

I have been on numerous fishing charters in the past and I know what to expect on a charter and this charter wasn’t it!

The boat was very dirty and out of order. There was actually trash in the sink and empty cans on the deck! We were not given any type of safety briefing before leaving the dock. We were not told where to locate life jackets or any other safety equipment.

We were not told where the restroom was or given any instructions on how to use the facilities. I have owned numerous boat so this wasn’t a big deal to me but I should not be the one to explain the instructions to the friends that were with me.

Before the charter, we were told to bring all the food and beverages we would like. You can’t expect a group to be on a charter for over six hours without using the restroom.

After asking to use the restroom, my daughter found the toilet was out of order/not working!

Even though I have a lot of experience fishing. I think the captain or first mate should explain the fishing equipment and why it is being used. We trolled around for hours with the captain not saying a word. I tried to engage in a conversation with them with little response.

People in my group actually dosed off during the charter (no alcohol involved). At the end of the trip, the captain and the first mate explained nothing to us, they just started taking in the gear and we started heading back to the marina.

I know catching fish on a charter is not a guarantee but I did expect to catch more than two fish. We became even more disappointed when we saw other boats bringing fish into the marina.

Catching fish is a small part of the experience, a captain and first mate can make or break a charter. I have been on other charters where we only caught a few fish and that was fine, the captain and first mate made those charters exciting and interesting. These two need to realize that they are in the entertainment business, it seemed to me that they didn’t care about our experience and they were just happy to get us off their boat, so they could go home.

I would definitely not recommend this fishing charter!
