Good evening John, If your review reflects the quality of fish you caught let me say this. You scheduled a 4 hour fishing trip. On the 4 hour trips the charter boats here go no farther than the Jetties. I heard your group mention many times that you wanted fish to take home, If I would have know that I would have recommended a longer day to afford me the opportunity to go offshore. There were 4 other charter boats sitting with us and none of them did any better catching than your group. At times your group did have a good bite going but unfortunately the fish were small. Your review of the boat and the crew does not reflect what the group afterwards and in the past have written. Thank you for fishing with Pipe Dream Charters and we wish you luck in your future expeditions.

We talked to the people that had gone on the early Trip. They had a bad experience also. We had a 6 hour trip scheduled. It took an hour to get to a bouy where the mate fished for bait for an hour then another half our drive to the fishing site. Crew should have had bait ready. We had four people in our group. The mate would put out four lines. When a fish would hit he would set the hook and hand the pole to one person to reel it in. He then would pull the other poles while everyone else sat in the cab watching the one person reel in the fish. After 40 minutes he steered away from the fishing site. I watched his track on his GPS. We stop getting bites. He said a storm was on its way and was calling the trip. We headed back in. Later we found out the storm was 70 miles away. It never rained. He did reimburse us $125 back out of the 700 by the time we tipped its was all gone. Four people was in our group. Each got a one chance at reeling in a fish. Two uneatable trash fish were landed and thrown back. Two fish got lose from the line. No fish brought back. There was only 40 minuets of actual fishing time. It was a 4 hour $575 boat ride. Worst fishing experience I have ever had. These people will rip you off. Please don’t fall for this so called fishing charter. It is not. The crew will do everything in there power to get you back to the dock ASAP and keep your money. You don’t even get to actually fish.

Hello Larry, sorry for your bad experience. Unfortunately it is fishing and at times bad weather moves in. The type of fishing we are doing this time of the year requires fresh live bait and there is not a professional fisherman or captain on Amelia Island or elsewhere that does not catch live bait to have a successful day. Some days bait is readily available and other time not. To address the issue of the mate bringing in lines when you were fighting a fish it is so your fish does not entangle itself in other lines. Many times I would steer away from the site while trolling in a circle to put the angler back to where the strikes were occurring. This time of the year storms come into play many days. It is my responsibility to keep the client safe and come back to the dock each trip. I monitored NOAA weather throughout your whole trip and I am sure you heard the STORM WARNINGS ;through out the day. I also monitor the storms on my RADAR and the storms were very close, within 10 miles when I decided to call your trip. I do agree the fish you caught were not table fare fish, but it is fishing and the angler does not always catch his preferred catch. I hope your trip yesterday and this reply is educational for you and I hope you never get an actual charter boat captain that keeps you out in a storm and risk your safety for the sake of a dollar.
