Great morning with some great guys looking forward to the next time.
The charter operator canceled 1 days prior to the trip date. This is an automated posting.
Joe and Andy were nice. We trolled for four hours, mostly close to shore. I have never been on a charter that trolled so close to the shore. Several of us have fished charters for 20 plus years. Sometimes the bite is great and sometimes slow but we have never had a Captain that can not get even a single bite. At the end of the day we trolled in front of the pass and circled around it to make up the last 20 minutes of the trip. Two years ago we went with C Rose, trolled further out, caught 3 Kings that fed 15 people plus about 20 bonita, but they were booked this year. We got the impression the Cool Change crew just did not want to get out any further. It was an expensive boat ride.

Sorry Steve but we were looking for gamefish around all the bait food usually means gamefish, the water was much rougher offshore as we discussed, Late November is not the best time to troll for Kimgs, as you noticed I was fishing around tons of bait, therefore should have been some gamefish. I guess you never notice Andy and myself on the Binoculars looking for more bird action, not the easiest thing to do for hours at a time. Trolling is one of the hardest trips on the crew, you are limited on what will bite at certain times of the year, and you can be a hero or a zero.I offered bottom fishing catch and release even though it was choppy and booked as a Trolling trip just so you can catch something, but the consensus was to keep trolling. I did all I could do to keep you in an area of fish activity (bait and working birds) I donโt like being skunked either, I offered all I could for a short trip. The 20 mins at the end was looking where we saw activity earlier and we were 10 mins late, hate not catching fish but it does happen from time to time, I would have rather not gone at all if I knew we wouldnโt catch anything but you canโt catch em sitting on the couch, could have been different. Hope your next trip makes up for this one.

The trip started by the Captain saying the seas were gonna be 3โ when I emailed the night before we went out and they ended up being 5โ consistently with 8โ-10โ rollers every few minutes. We were only 1 of 3 boats that went out that day โaccording to the deck hand Andyโ and were getting beat to death and couldnโt stand at all without holding on to something. We planned this entire trip for a good friend that recently lost his wife as a surprise and 5 out of 9 people never fished due to being sick and threw up the whole time. We had to end up cutting the $1800.00 trip short and the Captain didnโt offer one bit of a refund, not even a Iโm Sorry! All he said as we were getting ready to go was โitโs gonna be a little rolly todayโ
The next issue we had was the captain said they spilled bleach on the squid after hours of fishing an not a single fish (in these 5-10โ seas). It was after the captain told the deck hand to get another box of squid we started catching a few. We ended up with 4 small bags of fillets they were full of bones so I would recommend eating any fish from the boat!
Overall, we will never book this boat again as we feel like they wanted us to go out knowing we would all be sick and cut the trip short. They got our money this time but will never get it again. I knew I shouldโve went with High Cotton!

Michael I am sorry you did not have a good time, as you can see on the photo above seas were less than 3ft (.8 Meters) when we left and never got more than 4.3ft for the day so there were no 8-10ft seas yes the seas were close together and I understand the conditions were not perfect It was fishable and safe.. As far as seasickness I am not responsible for your preparation for the trip Medication or what you did the night before, some people get sick in calm seas.. If you have a problem or are dissatisfied with the trip then why did you not talk to me about it when we got in , instead you apologized for the crew getting sick and came in early (7Hrs) I am a reasonable businessman, men talk things out and all this could have been resolved and publicly avoided, instead you go home and become a โKeyboard Warriorโ and bash my business. I want my customers to enjoy the trip and catch as many fish as we can. I block out a day for your trip so I did not call the trip you and your crew did after I travelled 25 miles to get in an area with active fish that you could catch. The fish bit great on the last spot and we had 6 of the 9 ppl fishing so lets get real with the facts please, we had about a half of limit of be liners and the seas were dropping out. The bait issue was a suggestion, b liners are very finicky the bait trays could have been washed with bleach or someone could have even got sunscreen overspray on the bait, even if the bait was refroze sometimes they wont bite it, , we did catch some fish the first few spots just not enough keepers. that is why I suggested different bait. All fish have bones we are not catching Mrs Paul fish sticks out here Really?ย Sorry this couldnโt be resolved like adults.Next time on whatever you do if you have a bad experience or feel you are being shorted talk to the owner and resolve the issue on the spot, all business owners are reasonable and want happy customers. Last response to boats being out there, Andy is on the deck not the wheelhouse, there were 4 boats that left on 36hr trips, at least 7 other boats day fishing and yes only 3 boats out from our marina. Not including the 27ft boat that went by us at 25 miles heading south. 33 years of Running fishing charters
