Date Sept. 28th. Dorado/Mahi fishing is picking up and we had good fishing around the drift wood, leaves, and seaweed that floats along the confluence of a current line between disparate water masses. Captain and 1st mate provided excellent service and worked diligently to find and hook up fish. I highly recommend Sushi Hunter for a fishing charter out of Quepos. Hoping to return in November or early December when the Dorado bite is peaking. Sushi Hunter is a fully outfitted Mako Center Console fishing boat with outriggers, shade for the bow seating with twin 200Hp outboards to get to the fishing grounds quickly. Nice setup.

I was a little worried at first when the boat owner Luis warned us that they were having a difficult time catching live bait. He offered to let us switch to an offshore trip, but since I had one of those booked later in the week we decided to to stick with inshore. It took us a while but the captain was able to find us enough bait to fish inshore effectively. We had multiple chances at Roosterfish (notoriously hard to keep hooked) and caught several nice jacks. We also saw some whales and a turtle. The boat and fishing tackle were in great condition, the captain and deck hand were knowledgeable and friendly, and the freshly sliced pineapple for a snack was a nice touch. Couldnโt really ask for more; had a great time.

We had a great time! We caught 5 Rooster fish and 2 Needle fish in a half day on the boat. My kids and I had an amazing time and created memories that will last a lifetime.

Everything about my trip was first class! We had a tough day finding the fish but the Captain and mate never gave up. When we found the fish I had the biggest Mahi of my life. The boat is awesome , quiet engine , no diesel smoke and spotless clean. Lunch and snacks were great , ceviche, chicken n cheese burritos. I highly recommend!
