I booked my morning deep-sea charter 3 weeks in advance for a half-day.  I booked the morning intentionally because the seas are usually calmer which lends for better fishing and the ability to bottom fish - which is fun as you hold the rod, can feel the bite action and get a better fight pulling it in.
The night before the trip, I get a text that my reservation has been moved to the afternoon session with no reason given.  Get to the dock and the morning session folks are bagging up the fish they caught so good sign for us?  Not quite.
the seas were incredibly rough and we could only troll 2 lines behind the boat so the only action was the 4 of us taking turns reeling in whatever bit the line.  We each got 1 fish in 3 hours and there was no way we could bottom fish. 

When we got back to the dock, I asked the captain why our reservation got moved and he said that the original captain was still out of town and the fill-in already had a morning session.  The seas were calmer in the morning which further added to the frustration of being bumped off a timeslot I had booked several weeks ago

The captain was professional and did his job well but I wouldn’t recommend this booking service. I know the captain can’t control the weather and the fish but I booked the morning for a reason so to not have that honored for reasons unrelated to a mechanical or weather issue was disappointing.
