Great Captain and Mate. Gill and Hunter are true fishermen who work hard to make your trip a memorable, special trip. Finding a boat that is more concerned about making your trip good than making money is hard, but if you fish with these guys, you found one. We stayed out longer than we should of, but the Captain wasn’t satisfied with the catch yet so we adjusted the plan and caught more fish to make it a better trip. What more can you ask for? Great guys, hard fishermen, great with kids and you will leave with fish. We will fish with them again.

My wife, father in law and I had what my father in law called “one of the best days he can remember ” abord the Apex Predator. Captain Gil had us on the fish when other captains were heading back to port with little or no fish (confirmed by the staff at the marina). We also saw a few sea turtles along with one leather back turtle the size of a king sized bed (really, no exaggeration, its head was more than twice the size of mine and I have a big head). The only complaint I had was with the weather man. He called for 2-3 foot seas but mother nature gave us some 5 -6 foot seas for a good part of the morning. Captain Gill handle this like a seasoned pro, however. One of the best parts of the day was simply talking with Captain Gil and Hunter. It was very enjoyable just getting to know the both of them. They are definitely good people. They didn’t even get irritated with me when I accidentally completely released the drag on the reel and caused a bird’s nest while reeling I my Mahi. I felt like an idiot but they just acted like nothing happened and kept going (they still voted the fish despite my dumbass maneuver). Needless to say, we will be back as soon as we can. Thank you again Captain Gill and Hunter. I hope you got that hay on time 😀

We were booking from Canada for a trip during vacation.  Did a bunch of research and reading of reviews.  Landed on Gil & the Apex Predator. 

Gil’s attitude and demeanor sold us.  He was hungry to find fish and impress us.  The fishing was slower than we hoped due to the weather which was understandable.  Gil and his mate Hunter went above and beyond to locate and track them down.  Finally he found us some Mahi and the rods exploded into a celebratory day.

Thanks for the great time Gil & Hunter.  Highly recommend to anyone. 

Hot tip - bring these guys a little boarding gift of some kind if you want to see them really burn it up.  Cheers.

He is a top first mate and Captain Gill worked hard to get us on some fish, on a day where all the other charters had only caught one fish between them. We had already caught 2 tuna and 2 king fish a great day for all of us onboard.

We had a great trip with Captain Gil and his mate Hunter.  They put us on Mahi, Sails and Kings.  It was fishing for the other boats we saw/heard from, but it was CATCHING on the Apex Predator - Captain Gil put us on fish when no one else was doing so!  Several big Mahi brought in, but to top it off was a 50 lb Bucket List Bull I’ve dreamed of for a lifetime!  It was an awesome day and I’ll be back to fish with Captain Gil and Hunter again!  Thank you for a great day and a memory we’ll all carry the rest of our lives!
